Bio

James What first found his love of electronic dance music in the early 90’s when he began clubbing in London.

Back then jungle and happy hardcore was in and Club nights such as Labrynth at The 4 Aces Club in Dalston were pumping out some of the finest club tunes with DJ’s such as Nicky Black Market, Kenny Ken, Hype, Slipmatt and others supplying the best underground music to the underground London club scene.

Other venues in London at the time included Bagleys, Peach at Camden Palace, Sunny Side Up, the Cross, Fabric, the End and The Fridge in Brixton. They were all pioneering London Clubs whose music shaped James Whats eclectic tastes from Speed Garage and jungle to techno and house.

James What really got his passion for trance and electronica by partying at Peach at Camden Palace where the likes of Graham Gold hosted some of the best underground dance nights in the late 90’s

By 1997 James What had decided to get his own decks and purchased his first set of Technics 1210’s.

He then started mastering the art of the wheels of steel in clubs in Scotland and London.

He still lives in London and has as much passion for dance music as he did when it all began for him buying 45’s in the 80’s!
